I am a prominent nature lover, keenly interested in adventurous activities, engaged since 32 years in all kind of adventure, Nature and anything related to nature, Wildlife and its protection, Forest & its Conservation, Environmental Education and Protection with training in Rock climbing, Mountaineering, Rafting, Water and Ice Skiing, Parasailing and Swimming. Apart from three entries lead by me recorded in the Limca Book of Records, I have discharged my services for more than 50 courses as an Honorary Instructor for state Mountaineering Institute, Gujarat State at their various centers and have participated about 85 adventurous events such as camps, courses and expeditions as a Leader including 8 Peak climbing expeditions into the Himalayas. Excluding my various trekking of Jungles, deserts, seashores and other ranges of mountains in India, my outstanding performance in trekking Himalayan ranges - more than 15000 kms, rafting in various rivers of India at least 1100 kms. & bike riding for over one lakh kms. in various adventurous expeditions.
Since July 1990 I am an Honorary President & Founder of Parikrama Nature Adventure and Sports Institute, one of the leading and outstanding organizations engaged in adventurous activities, nature and environmental education, forest conservation and wild life protection. This institute is famous for its peculiar, unique and special adventure every year in the state of Gujarat. It is the only institute of India, which is recognized in LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS for three times. It organizes camps, courses and expeditions for trekking, mountaineering, rafting water and ice skiing, parasailing / gliding and two and four-wheeler adventure with one motto - "Development of Youth".
Now days strength of trekkers is undoubtedly increasing in the world & even in Gujarat but the quality of trekking & trekkers had gone to the bottom is a hard sad fact. The youth of Gujarat is interested in fun & enjoyment in the name of trekking & at the same time in this age of "Adventure Tourism" there are a big lot of low profile individuals & organizations that are always ready to make it confirm that trekking means only fun & luxury. I, as the president of " parikrama " had taken a serious note of this sad fact & am trying tireless efforts by remain determined to bring this level up since 1993 in this field. Many extra ordinary treks were successfully completed by ?parikrama " in my leadership & as a result "Ice trekking" in Himalayas & "Castle trekking" in Shahyadri are the two new directions opened up for the adventure lovers. At this stage it is worth to mention that 370 kms long Manali-Leh-Khardunglapass ice trekking organized by parikrama (April 29 - May 30 1995) had bestowed a reputation for not only Gujarat but for India among the adventures of the world by engraving its details on the pages of Limca Book of Records.
I am Online Volunteer of Online Volunteering service provided by the United Nations Volunteers programme that connects development organizations and volunteers over the Internet and supports their effective online collaboration & involve online volunteers from around the world and support the development initiatives with a diverse wealth of expertise, ideas and contacts which is engaged in sustainable human development activities via the Internet, and contribute individual strengths to support the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. I have created an OV Group of my organization that hosting online volunteers to publish online volunteering assignments and involve online volunteers in our organization?s activities.
I have also joined Comprehensive Disaster Risk Management Framework on-line course under World Bank Institute Distance Learning National Disaster Risk Management Program joint offering by The Environmental Planning Collaborative (EPC) and World Bank Institute (WBI).
Since four years I am connected with over 3.00.000 likeminded enthusiasts all over the globe on Internet with the help of my group activities & web page. I have created groups & communities on Yahoo, MSN, Rediff, Orkut, Hi5, Hikut, Friend circle & many other places of Internet in the name of ?NATUREANDADVENTURELOVERS? to exchange information, ideas, experiences, photos & many more with each others. I have also joined over 445 groups as an active member. It is surprising even for me that since inception my groups on all servers were heavily welcomed by over 246 other groups of similar engagement.
